The Game of Rent is a board game-style teaching tool designed to help communities have more productive conversations about affordable housing. Using local data and luck of the draw, the Game helps build empathy and awareness for an issue that confronts nearly countless neighborhoods and families in America.

A great tool for housing advocates, elected officials, educators, developers, designers, and neighbors, The Game of Rent helps spark discussion based in reality, not stereotypes, and lead to solutions.

“Thank you so much for coming out yesterday and sharing your game with my students - I think it was the most memorable part of the trip. From folks saying things like "oh, I'm a single parent with two kids - I can't live anywhere in Nashville!" to others commenting on how different jobs couldn't afford Bellevue or Green Hills... I think it was great."
